Access control systems can be integrated with fire alarm panels and CCTV systems. Remote control of CCTV systems by a roving guard allows a degree of flexibility never before possible in managing the security of a campus or complex. Tracking assets and personnel within a building is important to the overall scope of many security plans. Wireless alarm systems and hardwired alarms systems can be installed in most any facility. CCTV mobile monitoring and control allows a guard to roam freely in a building and still be in touch with the camera system. It is possible to record and log all alarms and events on a personal computer and then recall the events in a report. Anti theft systems will detect the theft of an item such as a projector or a tool allowing rapid response to the event by on-site security personnel. Duress alarms are sometimes called panic alarms and use a portable or fixed duress button or panic button. When a guard fails to arrive at a guard station within a specified time frame, it is immediately reported to facility security personnel. Every function required of a guard at a security desk such as telephone answering, intercom, CCTV monitoring, and alarm monitoring can be performed by roving guards from anywhere within a facility or a complex. Alarms can be annunciated by any number of means to include two way (2 way) radios, telephones, pagers, both subscription and on-site, email, fax and digital communicator. Automated annunciation is important when alarm information may save lives or property. Guard tour systems monitor the rounds that guards are making in a facility which allow a record to be kept as to who visited what stations and when. Wireless camera and wireless CCTV allows the installation of cameras in locations previously inaccessible. With automated annunciation, the central computer will say the alarm in computer generated English and broadcast this over the facilities two way (2 way) radios. A real time guard tour system will track and record the guard's activities as they happen allowing a user defined time window to be assigned to each guard station. Reports can be generated according to finely tuned user defined criteria.
